Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at admin@asoundmindbh.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • Ketamine is a legally prescribed off-label medication that is used for many psychiatric conditions.
  • Evidence-informed research shows the efficacy of low-dose Ketamine in the treatment of many psychiatric disorders.
  • It was FDA-approved in the 70s as an anesthetic drug.
  • It is an NMDA antagonist. It modulates largely a neurotransmitter (chemical messenger in the brain) called glutamate.
  • Ketamine's applications include analgesic, anxiolytic, antidepressant, and antiobsessional.
  • It possesses brain protective properties & enhances the brain's ability to form and reorganize brain cell connections.
  • It is a Schedule III controlled substance.

Ketamine can help people with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, and Alcohol/Substance Use Disorders who have found inadequate relief from traditional psychiatric treatments such as talk therapy and/or daily medication. Ketamine can catalyze a shift in perspective to help people get unstuck and move forward in their lives.

Ketamine treatment response rates for depression and anxiety are up to 70% (as compared to about 40% response rates for SSRIs), and results have rapid onset (~50% of people already see improvement after 2 sessions) and long-lasting effects on the order of weeks to months after completing 6 ketamine sessions. More recent studies have shown significant benefits for other psychiatric disorders such as PTSD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, and Alcohol/Substance Use Disorders.

The best of both worlds. Experience your psychedelic journey in the comfort of your home* with my staff support via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

*home sessions not appropriate for all patients and are offered on a case-by-case basis.

Yes! I offer 3-month and 6-month payment plans for ketamine treatment plans. Payment plans are available at no additional cost to you.

I also accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA, Venmo, and cash.

I am not in-network with any health insurance plans but, ketamine treatment is an eligible HSA/FSA medical expense.

If your health insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, you may request a superbill after each treatment session for you to submit your invoices (“superbills”) directly to your insurance for partial reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement varies by plan and is not guaranteed.

If you plan on using your out-of-network benefits, I strongly recommend that you contact your insurance ahead of time to get an estimate of how much they will reimburse.

When you contact your insurance please make sure they understand that you will be receiving services from an out-of-network provider.
